My Weekend: Friends, Parties and a LOT of cooking!

I had a break from posting for the weekend because I honestly didn't have a spare moment until now! After finishing my last science exam ever on Friday, I took my gorgeous boyfriend out to see World War Z in Gold Class that night because he was so kind and considerate of me while I studied. This was great because the med school runs on a different timetable and he was already on holidays (and as of yesterday back to studying again :-( )

On Saturday I had a big sleep in til 9am which was amazing, and started off the day by lighting a candle and having a long relaxing shower and reading A Very Short History of The World by Geoffrey Blainey.

I then met up with one of my best girlfriends and had a big shopping day with her.  And don't worry, we didn't buy those gaudy shoes, haha! After spending all day with L, we got home and got ready for the two 21sts on that evening. It's unfortunate that two of our close friends from different circles had their parties on the same night, but we split the time equally and had an awesome time at both.

On Sunday it was a BIG day for cooking. I had to wake up very early that morning while hungover to start slow cooking a pork shoulder which I had marinated while slightly tipsy the night before. Nothing better than cooking under the influence! After this I had an early lunch with the boyfriend at a local bakery and went grocery shopping. I then spent the whole day cooking with my mum and L; we made pulled pork, chile con carne and a huge amount of Mexican-themed side dishes and alcoholic beverages for my end of semester tequila party. It turned out great, everyone had an awesome time and loved the food and we played ridiculous drinking games. At one point I felt like I was going to throw up I was laughing so hard.

Monday was the last day of my boyfriend's holidays so we spent the day together relaxing and watching movies. After this I went over to another one of my best girlfriend's houses with L and J to surprise her on her birthday.

Here's a picture that I couldn't resist putting up. My friend, A, is a dog breeder so when we were over a her house we got to play with her 7 adorable baby huskies.

We finished off the night by going to get sushi and seeing Despicable Me together. So good to see all the girls!
That's my big weekend, and it doesn't seem like the rest of the week will be any more quiet, so I'll keep you all updated :-)

4th May 2013

image
I woke up at 6.30 to make my whole family some coffee and have a good chat to them. I don't often wake up this early when I don't have to be anywhere but it honestly makes me feel so much better and on top of things when I can make the most out of my day!
image
Afterwards I had a play with my three cats.
Up the top left you can see Fang enjoys waking up every morning to look out the window for hours, probably contemplating his escape to some cat buffet. Bottom left is the most unfriendly cat in the world but he lets me poke his nose sometimes, which is a really wholesome bonding experience for the two of us. On the right is Sophie, she's a total idiot, but she's cute and doesn't give me allergies so that's pretty fantastic.
I then watched a few neuro lectures to catch up on the one's I'd missed while doing assignments... whoop whoop!

This doesn't really have much to do with my day but I enjoyed my parents outfits a lot, they always blow me away with how fashionable they are. Little bit jelly.

I then went out to get ma hair did. I'm getting it trimmed and treated a lot more often which is fab cos it looks so much more healthy now. Bought a treatment and hair serum while I was there to keep up with the routine at home as well!

Then I went out shopping! I don't like taking pictures in stores because I think it's a bit rude, but I ended up getting a bunch of stuff! (LV wallet was my family's gift to my boyfriend for his 21st).

Last up me and my boyfriend went to a friend's 21st, sorry about the terrible photo quality. The theme was tennis players and golfers! I'm thinking the boyfriend needs a new polo that fits (and one that is ironed)...
That's about it, hope you guys enjoyed this!
